How We Brought San Fernando’s First Intentional Play and Café to Life
by: Aliyah Ordillano

The vision of San Fernando, Pampanga’s first intentional play and café finally came to life as Playbean held its successful grand opening last April 22. While everyone saw a seamless opening day, the reality of an event launch involves months of quiet, behind-the-scenes work. At JG Worldwide, we spent months building Playbean piece by piece, translating a dream into a destination.
From Concept to Brand Identity
It all began with a simple brief: a "child-first" play and café space where every family and member of the community could connect and unwind together. The client brought the heart—the core concept and inspiration of Playbean—and our job at JGW was to build the bones. We established the brand message based on this vision, ensuring the brand felt both safe and nurturing.

Our creative team developed the full brand kit, which included the logo, brand mark, and typography. The logo construction is particularly symbolic; the "P" and "B" combine to represent the brand name while also serving as coffee beans and "little beans”, referring to the children who fill the play area.
To bring this identity to life, we curated a color palette that blends warm, earthy tones like terracotta with refreshing hues like teal. These colors work together to balance the vibrancy of play with a sense of calm, approachable modern energy.
Most importantly, we gave the brand its voice through the official tagline we established: Our Play Builds Tomorrow. This wasn't just a phrase; it was the lens through which we viewed every design and content decision, ensuring that every touchpoint felt consistent with Playbean’s mission.
The Reality of the Pre-Launch Grind
There is a reality to event launches that no one tells you about: the "quiet" months are often the most intense. Before Playbean even had a physical door to open, we were busy identifying the target market and building digital momentum. To build anticipation, we organized a huge batch-filming session, producing a long-form founder’s story and a series of short-form videos to share the purpose behind the business.

We kept interest steady by flooding social media feeds with strategic content. From engaging official grand opening invitations to the grand opening countdown and website announcement, every post was designed to build anticipation for the big day.

Behind the scenes, we were also busy crafting the official website and a membership program designed to build a lasting community. This phase was a coordinated effort to ensure the digital experience matched the physical one we were promising.

The Strength of a 100% Effort
The weeks leading up to April 22 were the ultimate test of our teamwork. In the agency world, the progress of one person is the progress of the whole team. Every role, from creative direction to supplier coordination, depended on one another to stay on schedule.

As Yasmin Aslam, our Senior Multimedia Artist and Team Lead, puts it: "Everything worked together on our end because we treated every win as a collective one. Our success was a domino effect; every team member relied on one another and gave 100% effort, which is exactly why the event was a 100% success."
Launch Day: The Roadmap in Action
A grand opening is only as good as its roadmap. On the big day, our strategy shifted from digital hype to physical engagement. We didn't just want people to walk around; we wanted them to explore.

The event’s highlight, the “Treasure Hunt”, was curated for the kids to showcase the intentional areas of the space, ensuring they interacted with every corner of the development-focused design.

We collaborated with local content creators and media groups to ensure the energy inside the space was reflected online in real-time. By inviting creators who specialize in family content to experience the space firsthand with their own children, we facilitated genuine feedback and storytelling. Their authentic sharing allowed their communities to see the true Playbean experience through the eyes of real parents and kids.

Beyond the Numbers
The results were immediate, proving the effectiveness of the strategies implemented both before and during the launch. Our partnership with media groups and creators led to a much stronger online presence and produced competitive engagement across all social platforms.

In the days following the launch, the website saw a continuous stream of reservations, keeping the space consistently filled with families ready to experience Playbean for themselves.

However, the most rewarding part wasn't the data, but the feeling of the day itself. Yeshua Torres, our Junior Creative, shared that the highlight was seeing the founders and guests truly happy. "The most memorable moment for me was the ribbon cutting," Yeshua noted. "Seeing the vision for Playbean finally come to life made all the team's hard work feel like it had truly paid off."

The Next Chapter
The grand launch on April 22 was just the beginning of the Playbean story, and JGW is proud to be the team helping write it. We successfully introduced a local space where children can learn and grow, while parents find a real place to relax. We are dedicated to helping brands find their voice and make an impact on their community.
